AI for Network Leaders, powered by Selector: panel discussion and audience Q&A

AI for Network Leaders, powered by Selector, New York City. Published 24 August 2026. About 50 minutes.

After the talks at Selector's AI for Network Leaders event in New York, the speakers came back up together and the room got to ask questions directly. Mine earlier in the day was Making AI (net)work: Six Fundamentals for a Successful AI-Integrated Network; this is the unscripted part.

What the room wanted to know

The questions were practical ones from people with production networks to protect. How to roll out agentic capabilities without handing an agent more access than it should have. How to earn enough trust from engineers, and from the people they report to, for AI output to be acted on. Where the real challenges and real opportunities are once you get past the demo.

Those are the same themes I keep coming back to: start read-only, get your data in order before you pick a model, and remember that most of what stalls these projects is people and process rather than technology.
